Unlike other heroes who portray themselves from poor backgrounds in films to get sentiments, Ravi acted in many films as wealthy youth and so he got fans among the wealthy in society. His roles in M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi and Santosh Subramaniam have made him the darling of this so called class audience.
Kollywood grapevine was abuzz with rumors about the marriage between Ravi and Aarthi that was said to be happened on Valentine’s Day. But director M. Raja, brother of Ravi made it clear that Ravi is shooting in Talakona forest near Tirupati and the marriage will be announced by the family soon.
Ravi was introduced as hero in film by his brother Raja in the movie Jayam released in 2002 produced by their father Mohan. It became a super hit and ultimately attached movie name as a prefix to his name. Ravi and Raja together made some super hit films like Jayam, M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, Unakkum Enakkum and Santhosh Subramaniam. He has so far done 9 films and currently acting in his tenth film Peraanmai under S.P. Jana Nathan’s direction.
Ravi is a martial arts expert and a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Prior to acting, Ravi had been an assistant director to Suresh Krishna in 2001 Kamalhaasan film Aalavandhan.
The most eligible bachelor, Ravi will tie knot on June 7th after two years of acquaintance with his sweetheart Aarthi. He had met Aarthi during many family occasions.
Aarthi, the elder daughter of Sujatha Vijayakumar, who is a noted Television producer and has produced Sundar C starring film Veerappu, is a successful personality in tinsel town. After finishing B.C.A. Aarthi has done Masters in International Management from Switzerland.
The marriage function will be held in Chennai Mayor Ramanadhan Chetteyar Kalyan Mandapam on grand note. There have been rumors that Ravi’s dad Editor Mohan was not in favor of the alliance.
Ravi has been spending 13 months in the jungles, for his role as a forest officer in film Peranmai. Even after being in the industry for so long, Ravi never got into any controversial gossips.
After his marriage he will act in director Ameer’s Kannabiran.

Asal : Thala Ajith and Charan again
Director Saran and Ajith Kumar are gearing up for the new project which will be Ajith's 49th venture. This is director Saran's fourth film with Ajith, after Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam; all their previous ventures where super hits at the box office.
Asal’s tagline is as powerful as ultimate star Ajith The Power of Silence.
Asal’s pooja took place at Sivaji’s family residence. The event was attended by Ajith, Saran, Prabu, Ramkumar, Vairamuthu, Yugi Sethu, Bharadwaj, Antony and M Prabhakar.
Sameera Reddy was confirmed for female lead much before as Gowtham Menon had got her signed for this project. Later Gowtham Menon stepped out of the project. This will be Sameera Reddy’s second Tamil film after Vaaranum Aayiram.
Vivid discussions had taken place before finalizing between A.R. Rahman and Harris Jayaraj. Rahman being busy with international projects and Harris Jayaraj impressing everyone with his latest Vaaranam Aayiram and Ayan, Ajith and Saran confirmed him for Asal.
Nirav Shah who filmed Billa so stylishly is the cinematographer for Thalai of Tamil film industry, Ajith for this film. Ajith’s Billa was acclaimed to be in Hollywood style. Nirav got calls from the top with offers from Shanker for Rajnikanth starrer Endhiran.
Ajith will be sporting the walrus like moustache which Kamal Hassan wore in Virumandi and also late Sivaji Ganesan in Thevar Magan.
Asal is produced by actor Prabhu under the banner of Sivaji Productions. The film is rumored to be an action packed one and will present the hero as a tough encounter cop. For this Ajith have become meaner and fitter and has reduced his tummy after undergoing rigorous workouts at gym.
Ajith's last offering Aegan was a disaster at the box office so Ajith is looking for a comeback with his trusted partner Saran, who has proved himself as a good commercial director.

Ashok Amritraj to produce Ajith’s remake of RACE
Ashok Amritraj, the one and only versatile personality ennobled as ‘Bridge between Indian Film Industry and Hollywood. He has produced over enormous flicks in Hollywood as well in Indian films including Director Shankar’s Jeans starring Prashanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles. His recent Hollywood production ‘The Other End of Line’ starring Shriya Charan in female lead flunked at World Box Office. Nevertheless, the producer seems to be more interested in producing a Tamil movie and recently approached Director Venkat Prabhu. Milky white beauty Tamannah Bhatia has been roped into the 50th film of Vijay which will be produced by Sangli Murugan. This movie is said to be a closely guarded movie as the details of this movie are kept as a secret for the sake of some suspense element.
Kanthasamy in Tamil
It is a superhero film with outstanding special effects and grandeur. The photo session and the promo shows Vikram in six getups, including that of a lady, a Zulu, a Krissh-like comic-book hero, Ramana Maharshi , and with a rooster mask. In a couple of photos, the Vikram-Shirya pair looks like business executives flanked by Africans in the backdrop of Sahara desert. The album has turned out to be a curious product in the industry.
Mallanna (Kanthasamy in Tamil), with Vikram & Shriya in the lead, is getting ready. Post production work in full swing and the audio will be launched on May 19.
No 'Jai Ho' in polls: A.R. Rahman
In an interview given to a leading international news channel, music maestro A.R. Rahman has expressed his unhappiness over political parties using his Oscar winning song 'Jai Ho' for poll campaigns. A.R. Rahman reportedly said that he felt dehydrated and exhausted when someone told him people are still using his song for poll campaigns. “I hate politics. I just want people to serve the people. I want whichever government comes to be unbiased and say there should be justice in the country; that's my purpose in life," Rahman was quoted as saying. The Congress had bought exclusive rights to the song 'Jai Ho' for its poll campaign but later dropped it, worried by its similarity with the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) ‘India Shining campaign’ which failed to click with voters in 2004. The composer also explained how his accolades for Slumdog Millionaire are also recognition for India. When asked about his next project post-Oscars, A.R. Rahman said that he has already bagged a couple of new offers from Hollywood. The full version of A.R. Rahman’s interview will be aired on May 20, with repeat telecasts on May 21 and May 23.
vivekananda Biography
A spiritual genius of commanding intellect and power, Vivekananda crammed immense labor and achievement into his short life, 1863-1902. Born in the Datta family of Calcutta, the youthful Vivekananda embraced the agnostic philosophies of the Western mind along with the worship of science. At the same time, vehement in his desire to know the truth about God, he questioned people of holy reputation, asking them if they had seen God. He found such a person in Sri Ramakrishna, who became his master, allayed his doubts, gave him God vision, and transformed him into sage and prophet with authority to teach. After Sri Ramakrishna's death, Vivekananda renounced the world and criss-crossed India as a wandering monk. His mounting compassion for India's people drove him to seek their material help from the West. Accepting an opportunity to represent Hinduism at Chicago's Parliament of Religions in 1893, Vivekananda won instant celebrity in America and a ready forum for his spiritual teaching. For three years he spread the Vedanta philosophy and religion in America and England and then returned to India to found the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Exhorting his nation to spiritual greatness, he wakened India to a new national consciousness. He died July 4, 1902, after a second, much shorter sojourn in the West. His lectures and writings have been gathered into nine volumes.

“We are together for a successful relationship”
There had been reports that Warner Bros. opted out of the Tamil project Goa over some differences with the Ocher Studios. This was denied by the US production house major Warner Bros as well as Soundarya Rajnikanth’s Ocher Studios.
In a press release Richard Fox Executive Vice-President International, Warner Bros, has said: “Warner Bros. has been and will continue to work with Ocher Studios. Together, our companies have a number of southern Indian language projects in various stages, from early negotiations to active development. We will announce these projects at the appropriate time. But, any rumor that suggests otherwise is simply not true.”
According to Soundarya Rajinikanth Managing Director, Ocher Studios Pvt Ltd, “Ocher Studios Pvt. Ltd and Warner Bros have already established a very successful relationship and the team will very soon announce their forth coming projects. The rumors suggesting otherwise which are doing the rounds are part of someone’s fictitious imagination.”
Ameer’s name missing in voters list
Director Ameer was in for a shock when he realized that his name was missing in the voters list at his voting booth in KK Nagar, Madhurai. The director-actor, who had left for Madhurai from Chennai last night to cast his vote, says he was appalled to find his name missing. “When I had enquired about my name in the voters list, I was told it would feature in the second list. However, it wasn’t there in the list this morning. And what’s shocking is that my wife and almost everybody else in my family have their name on the list,” says an agitated Ameer, who says he’d rather keep off the blame game about who would be behind this. “I don’t know how this single vote can achieve anything for anybody else, but I wanted to take it in stride and have officially filed a complaint with the election commissioner,” says the director, who will return to Chennai tonight. “I only think it has been negligence on their part to not include my name,” he says.
